The innermost nature of the world (for music lovers)

Músìc matters

In spite of its widespread diffusion, music remains an enigma. Music for those who love it is so important that to be deprived of it would constitute a cruel and unusual punishment. Any day which passes without being seriously involved with music in one way or another is a day wasted.

Here’s what an author has put to-get-her in appreciation of the musical creator who makes music through understanding  sequence of dissonance in harmonic progression. And most importantly, human evolution’s use of rhythm and melody for the purposes of speaking in choral singing.

The author is sometimes called ‘an energy connoisseur’ or a fictional actor’s actor, as if only fictional world could appreciate his skill, originality, and inexhaustible power of invention.

Enjoy his rambling!

Music is rooted in the natural order of things

I believe from the Earth emerges a musical poetry which is by nature of its sources tonal. These sources evolve from universal harmonic series. And there’s an equally universal syntax, which can be codified and structured in terms of symmetry and repetition.

The music writes itself… There is no longer a composer who pushes the material about, but only its servant, carrying out what the notes themselves imply.

Music no like dissonance

This may bear witness to the bulldozing effect of Western dominance, which tends to destroy every indigenous aspect of the cultures with which it comes into contact, but it is not a good argument for the superiority of European music. American popular music has swept the world; in fact, the universality is well-known that I’m sure you could give me examples of it, from all corners of the Earth….now that is a true universal belieber

Music establishes harmonic order

Wherever new civilization has penetrated another culture, and set the people’s thoughts along the road to material happiness, the tonal universal music has begun to oust the music of that culture from the people’s affections. Today, we are accustomed to listening to music which has no necessary connection to human aspiration or conceptual thought for the imaginative child. This is vanity and vexation of spirit.

Music luxurious with or without words

Today, if you ask people whether they are interested in classical music, it will probably be assumed that I am thinking primarily of instrumental music: of symphonies, concertos, chamber music, and sonatas of the kind which fill concert halls. Music accompanying words, as in opera, oratorio, or church music may also be implied, but will not usually be foremost in the mind. We may conclude that people who are more interested in drama or in vocal display love opera. I am sure that one of the reasons why music affects us so deeply is its power to structure our auditory experience and thus to make sense out of it.

In a broader sense, how can I be entirely sure that my neighbor is feeling exactly what I feel?

Laughing at funerals?

Sneering at coronations?

Feeling malice at weddings?

Music arouses

When music accompanies words, or is closely associated with public events such as triumphs, funerals or weddings, questions of its meaning hardly arise. We know what we are expected to feel, and we usually feel it. Music adds significance to ceremonies and to words because it induces arousal and structures that arousal in a way that ensures collective participation.

Great music transcends the individual who created it. Therefore, comparing getting to know a piece of music with getting to know a person is to point out the inadequacy of approaching music only as if it were a mathematical construction, when in fact, music has an impersonal dimension.

Musick, the greatest good that mortals know, And all of heav’n we have below.

Music is Joy

Some think birds sing for far more than is biologically necessary for the various forms of communication. Well, this biologically demanding is unlikely to be produced unless it is serving some useful function. Like human beings, the main social function served, at least during the course of the song, provides a shared form of emotion that causes the community to experience their bodies responding emotionally in very similar ways.

Regardless of ambivalence towards deity of light who presides over the inner world of phantasy and dream, diving into the core essence of its creative power is the greatest of all imaginative flights which humans have achieved.

Music language of the gods

I think it was Claude Lévi-Strauss who said, “Since music is the only language with the contradictory attributes of being at once intelligible and untranslatable, the musical creator is a being comparable to the gods, and music itself the supreme mystery of the science of man.”

Music, science , and art are intricately interwoven. Art, at the dawn of human culture, was a key to survival, a sharpening of the faculties essential to the struggle for existence. Art, in my opinion, has remained a key to survival. Although science can define the differences between tones in terms of pitch like OK google, loudness, timbre, and waveform, it cannot portray the relation between tones which constitute music. [natural]

There’s no general agreement about the origins of music. Music has only tenuous links with the world of nature. Nature is full of sound, and some of nature’s sounds such as running water, may give us considerable pleasure.
